A brand system for Grizzly Peak Cyclists

An identity built to unite your community—on the road, on the screen, and on the jersey.

GPC has the riders, the routes, and the reputation. What's missing is a visual identity that matches.

Grizzly Peak Cyclists has built something rare—a community that spans Berkeley, Oakland, and beyond, held together by shared miles and mutual respect. But your current identity doesn't reflect that. It's functional, not memorable. It works on a spreadsheet but not on a jersey.

The gap between who GPC is and how GPC looks is costing you. New riders don't immediately recognize the brand. Merch doesn't move because the mark doesn't inspire pride. And your digital presence—website, social, event pages—lacks the cohesion that turns a club into a movement. Every month without a system, the gap widens.

What success looks like

01

A logo that honors GPC's history while inviting its future—recognizable at 60mph and at 60px.

02

A brand system that works across every touchpoint—jerseys, stickers, social, banners—without losing coherence.

03

Visual identity that makes riders proud to wear, share, and represent the club.

04

A flexible system your team can maintain and extend—without needing us for every update.

Before we design, we ask why.

Every choice is intentional. We distill your project into four questions, then move through four phases. No guesswork. No decoration for its own sake. Just a system built with purpose.

01.
Discovery

We learn your brand's DNA—history, audience, competitive landscape, aspirations. We ask "why" until every challenge and opportunity is defined.

02.
Innovation

We explore directions that are bold and aligned with your vision. Mood boards, concept sketches, typographic studies. Ideas that add tangible value—not just visual noise.

03.
Definition

We crystallize the identity—logo, typography, color, voice. A cohesive system with clear rules that communicates your unique position in every context.

04.
Iteration

We refine through feedback. Quick wins, continuous improvements. Your input shapes the final system so it's built to last—not just to launch.

The team behind the work.

Clay & Code — the thinking that shapes a mark, the engineering that makes it perform.

Volume One is a two-person studio built on a simple belief: the best brand systems come from small teams who care deeply — not large ones who move quickly.

We're Gabe and Carolina, a designer and creative lead partnership based in Mazatlán, Mexico, working with clients across the U.S. and beyond. Our work sits at the intersection of brand strategy and technical craft — what we call Clay & Code. The thinking that shapes a mark. The engineering that makes it perform.

We've built identity systems for fashion platforms, behavioral science consultancies, talent agencies, and SaaS companies. Every engagement gets our full attention — because we don't take on more than we can hold with intention.

When you work with Volume One, you work with us. Not a rotating cast. Not a project manager relaying your feedback. The people who design the system are the same people in every call, every review, every decision.

Everything included.
